In A Time to Embrace William Stacy Johnson brilliantly analyses the religious, legal, and political debates about gay marriage, civil unions, and committed gay couples in the USA. This second edition was first published in 2011, so is inevitably somewhat out of date, but is still well worth reading.
‘Exceptionally well written. Dr Johnson clearly states his own [affirming] position, and then manages to present a clear and unbiased representation of many positions. I recommend this book to anyone open to exploring the Church’s response to gay people and couples.’ — Chad
